This Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treats recipe is so simple, quick, and easy, and if you know me. Then you know that I do not like doing long or messy activities with my kiddos. I like them short and sweet! If you are the same but are looking for something fun to bake with your kids. I would totally give this recipe a try.
Our oldest has recently loved to cook and has enjoyed learning how to make different foods. Our youngest has always enjoyed helping me in the kitchen and we have always said he is going to be a little chief (but who know 🤷♀️).
Like I said before this Lucky Charms recipe is simple, simple, simple so all you need is 4 ingredients!
For this yummy treat, you will need:
- Lucky Charms
- Mini Marshmallows
That’s it! See simple
Once you have all the ingredients out ( I personally like to have everything set out on the counter first that way I am not searching for ingredient after ingredient. It makes it so much easier and faster when cooking/baking) start melting the butter in a saucepan.
Once you add the butter make sure it is all the way melted before adding the sugar. Then stir until it is all mixed together and is smooth.
While you are waiting for the butter and sugar to melt and mix together. Get a mixing bowl and add the Lucky Charms to the bowl and set aside. After you do that, get a 9 x13 pan and spray it with oil and set it aside.
Once the butter and sugar are smooth and are mixed together. Pour the butter and sugar into the mixing bowl with the Lucky Charms and stir it all together until the Lucky Charms are evenly coated with the melted butter and sugar.
Once the Lucky Charms are coated evenly. Pour them into the pan and spread out the Lucky Charms treat evenly. I liked to pack it down a little bit so that it held together better. After you have done that, lightly cover it with saran wrap and let it sit until it completely cools.
Once it completely cools down. Cut it in squares and it is ready to eat!
I am a big fan of Rice Krispy Treats so this was super yummy and fun to make and eat. Another reason I loved this recipe is that there was no baking needed. You mix it pour it and let it cool and it’s ready to be eaten. Children will enjoy cooking and baking when the recipes are
- Ones that want to cook/bake. I let our children pick out what they would like to cook because they stay excited and engaged more then if I were to pick a recipe for them to cook
- Simple at list until your child is older and their attention span is longer. It is best to stick to simple, quick, and easy recipies. They will learn to enjoy cooking and see that it can be fun
- If you make it fun. Baking and cooking sometimes seems to stress me out when our children try to help. It’s usually because I am dealing with hot pans and ovens. So I have found that when it is a simple recipe and I am not in a rush to get dinner on the table then it is much more enjoyable for all of us.
That is why I really love this cookbook that we made this Lucy Charms Marshmallow Treats from. It’s called My First CookBook here is a list of some of the things found inside this cookbook.
