Before I go any father on what I did to grow my Pinterest profile HUGE in such a short amount of time. I want to show you where it was at first.

When I started Dollar Mommy Club I had it up a little over a month before I started using Pinterest. Why? I will go over that in another post. But as you can see after I started using Pinterest my profile grew rapidly!

Pinterest and SEO are both for the long term. What I mean by that is it takes time before you are recognized as an authoritative blog.

Now don’t think that because you are a new blog that you won’t get traffic to your blog. You can and will get traffic!

On this blog, I am using the same tips and tricks I learned with Dollar Mommy Club to grow my blog traffic!

No Matter What Niche You Are In You Can Have An Amazing Blog And Make Money!

One of my biggest passion is helping other mamas grow their blog using Pinterest and make money.

The #1 way to grow your blog fast is by using Pinterest.

Your main goal is to generate loads of traffic from all social media platforms. But, Pinterest is a quick and easy place to start!

I had 30 posts on my blog before launching it on Pinterest. Doing so generated me quick traffic.

After using Pinterest for 2 months I had 176,020 pageviews!

WHAT!! I know right…

Now 6 months later my Pinterest account gets over 2 million views a month!

You may be wondering how did I grow my Pinterest account quickly even as a new blogger? Don’t worry I’ll let you know!

Since I have been blogging for a while now, every time I start a new blog I get better at optimizing it and get amazing traffic!

Here are the tactics I used to grow my Pinterest account to over 2 million views a month!

1. I Use a Business Pinterest Account

Did you know that Pinterest has two different types of accounts you can have? At the time I started using Pinterest for my blog I had no idea! If you have been using your blog on a personal account switch it!

Your traffic may dip but it worth it I promise! Why? With a personal account, you don’t have access to your analytics. Which is really important! Because it shows you who your audience is, your top pins and it helps you what blog posts you need to write next!

Have a business Pinterest account is a must for your blog if you want a lot of success! and who doesn’t right?

It doesn’t take long to set up your account. It took about 15 minutes!

2. Keyworded my Pinterest Profile

Have you heard of keywords? They help your pins to be seen and help Pinterest know what your pin is about!

Also, if you keyword your Pinterest profile to your niche that will help others find your Pinterest account and your pins which then gets you traffic!

Here is a video tutorial on how to Keyword your Pinterest Profile:

3. Joined Group Boards

Group boards and the bomb dot com! They are boards that multiple people can contribute to in your niche. I love group boards because when I first started my Pinterest account I didn’t have a ton of followers or ever viewers.

So I leveraged group boards. Some group boards have thousands of followers so that means thousands of people are seeing your pin!

Pretty cool huh?

This is one way that boosted my traffic and Pinterest account. Pin Groupie is a place you can go to find different group boards in your niche.

You can see how many followers a board has and how many collaborators.

Pro Tip: You want to join group boards with 1000 followers. That way your pin is being seen by a lot of pinners!

4. I use Tailwind

Tailwind is an amazing tool! It is Pinterest’s own automated pinning system. And as a mom this was a must have since I don’t have loads of time to pin 24/7. Mamas this is a time saving, traffic generating magic tool!

Although my Pinterest profile was already doing great I was using a lot of my time pinning. And I found my self not pinning for days or even weeks because I either forgot to or I simply didn’t have enough time.

Once I started using Tailwind everything changed!

As you can see ever since I started using Tailwind my Pinterest monthly views has increased!

Here is a video overview of Tailwind!

Guess what? You can try Tailwind FREE for your first 100 pins! Stop spending your precious time pinning and use Tailwind!

5. Use Keywords on Pins

Remember what I said about Keywords? For pinners to find you pins you need to use keywords in your pin descriptions.

I add 3-4 long tail (I will explain what long tail means later) per pin. You separate them with either a comma or and up down thingy which is what I call it (|). When searching for keywords you want to use keywords that are not super popular.

Because using keywords that are very popular are harder to rank, especially if you are a new blogger.

Here is how I find my keywords on Pinterest.

When finding keywords on Pinterest you type in the search bar a generic term for your niche such as parenting, blogging, moms etc. Then all those little squares that pop up are different keywords!

Let me quickly explain what long tail keywords mean: It means a sentence with 3 or more words.

Pro Tip: Longer word sentences the better

Yoast has a great in-depth definition on long tail keywords. Using keywords in your pin description will help your pins be found easier, which will help grow your Pinterest account and your blog’s traffic!

So it is a win-win-win situation!

With these 5 simple tips, you can grow your Pinterest account and increase your blog’s traffic. Lastly, be patient. Pinterest is SEO based which means it can take a little bit of time to grow a massive Pinterest account.

But stick with it! Because in the end, it is all worth it!

Kara is the founder of the Dollar Mommy Club and a full-momma and who loves every minute of it. Ever since she was a little girl (around two years old actually) she has wanted a baby of her own. She even asked her mom for “a crying and pooping baby doll” for Christmas when she was just 6 years old. Certain events took place to where Kara was diagnosed with Endometriosis, and doctors told her that having her own children might be impossible. She spent years trying to figure out her health by trying everything under the sun that you can think of. It wasn’t until a few years after she was married that both she and her husband figured it out, and they were blessed with their first baby girl! When Kara isn’t managing the Dollar Mommy Club and it’s wonderful members and contributors, she enjoys spending time with family, binge-watching The Office on Netflix, and creating art.
